Why We Began
Great Lakes Eye Care (originally called Great Lakes Eye Clinic) was established in 1987 to provide for the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions and diseases in people, as well as normal preventive eye care for the community of Southwest Michigan.

Dr. Pletcher in Ecuador

Dr. Pletcher's review on GLAUCOMA
Dr. Pletcher is working at a hospital in Eastern Ecuador where he is starting an ophthalmology program. Here is his description of the project:

I have been traveling to Ecuador for about eight years, doing short-term mission trips. In 2009, the head of the HCJB hospital system (a set of two mission hospitals in Ecuador) asked me to help start an ophthalmology program at their smaller "jungle" hospital.
